PETG Sheet

  • Q PETG plastic sheets VS Acrylic sheets

    A
    PETG and acrylic are two commonly used materials for various applications, including displays, signage, and protective barriers.

    Acrylic, also known as plexiglass, is a clear and stiff plastic that offers high transparency and scratch resistance. It is lightweight and has excellent impact resistance, making it ideal for applications where transparency is essential, such as museum exhibits or product displays.

    PETG is a transparent thermoplastic that is more flexible and impact-resistant than acrylic. It is also highly shatter-resistant, making it a popular choice for packaging materials and protective barriers. While acrylic is generally more expensive than PETG, it offers superior optical clarity and scratch resistance.

    Ultimately, the choice between PETG and acrylic depends on the specific application and requirements. For applications that require transparency and scratch resistance, acrylic may be the better choice. For applications that require flexibility and impact resistance, PETG may be the better option.
  • Q How to Calculate PETG Plastic Sheet Weight?

    A
    To calculate the weight of a PETG plastic sheet, you need to know the dimensions of the sheet and its density. The formula for calculating the weight of a sheet is:

    Weight = Length(meters) x Width(meters) x Thickness(millimeters) x Density(grams per cubic centimeter)

    Here are the steps to follow:

    1. Measure the length, width, and thickness of the PETG plastic sheet in meters and millimeters.

    2. Convert the dimensions to meters and millimeters if necessary.

    3. Look up the density of PETG plastic, which is typically around 1.27 grams per cubic centimeter.

    4. Plug in the values into the formula and calculate the weight of the sheet.

    For example, let's say you have a PETG plastic sheet that measures 1.22 meters by 2.44 meters by 2mm thickness and has a density of 1.27 grams per cubic centimeter. The weight would be calculated as follows:

    Weight = 1.22x 2.44 x 2 x 1.27 = 7.5610 kgs

    Therefore, the weight of the PETG plastic sheet would be approximately 7.5610 kgs.

    Keep in mind that this formula provides an estimate and the actual weight may vary slightly depending on the specific density of the PETG plastic used.
  • Q What is PETG plastic sheet?

    A PETG plastic is one kind of engineering thermoplastic plastic. We can creat PETG plastic into complicated shapes, fine details, profound drawings, and complex curves without concern for durability. It brings increased design freedom and lower manufacturing costs. PETG has impact strength and manufacturing ease in sheet form that acrylic does not. It provides high-impact strength and excellent clarity and is easy to shape, punch and fabricate.
  • Q PETG vs. PET plastic?

    A PET plastic is also named Polyethylene terephthalate. Polyethylene terephthalate glycol, commonly known as PETG petg plastic. We can think of PETG plastic as PET plastic with glycol added. PET plastic is the result of two monomers combining. PETG material involves these identical monomers but also includes glycol, giving it different chemical properties than PET plastic, which means that PETG sheet has better shock resistance and is better suited to higher temperatures. It is a thermoplastic polyester that provides significant chemical resistance, durability, and excellent formability for manufacturing. PETG film is one kind of easily vacuumed plastic, pressure-formed and heat-bent, thanks to its low forming temperatures.
  • Q What is the advantage of PETG plastic sheets?

    A

    1. High Transparency

    The transparency rate of PETG is 90%, which is better than PVC sheets &PET sheets. This material can use in high-end product packaging.

    2. Low Density

    The density of PETG is 1.27g/cm3. If using the same size PVC or PET sheets, the weight of PETG is lighter.

    3. Good Impact Resistance

    PETG sheets are full of elasticity, not easily out of shape, rigid, and have good shockproof and cushioning functions.

    4. Easy to Process

    PETG sheet is good processing material. We mainly provide carving, bending, vacuum forming, and other services.

    5. Safety

    PETG is one of the safest plastics, non-toxic, and environmentally. The main application is food containers or cosmetic packaging.
