Clear PETG sheet is a transparent thermoplastic sheet used across display, protective panel, packaging, and fabrication applications where buyers need optical clarity together with the impact resistance and forming behavior that PETG specifically provides. It is one of the most versatile transparent rigid plastics in commercial use - clearer than PVC, tougher than acrylic, and more forming-friendly than APET.
This page is for buyers who know they need clear PETG but have not yet locked down a specific thickness or sheet size. If you have already decided on a thickness, see our 3mm clear PETG sheet page for the most common heavy-gauge fabrication thickness or our 0.020" x 24" x 48" PETG sheet page for the standard thin-gauge stock size. For a broader overview of all PETG products including non-clear and non-standard variants, see our main PETG sheet category page.
ONE PLASTIC manufactures clear PETG sheet across the full thickness range from 0.15mm film to 6mm fabrication plate, in standard and custom sheet sizes.
Clear PETG sheet is a transparent rigid plastic sheet made from glycol-modified polyethylene terephthalate (PETG). The "G" stands for the glycol modification that distinguishes PETG from standard PET (APET) - the modification gives PETG a wider thermoforming window, better impact resistance, and improved resistance to stress-whitening at bend lines.
Clear PETG combines four characteristics that make it broadly useful:
High Optical Clarity: Light transmittance typically 88% or higher with low haze, comparable to acrylic in most viewing conditions.
Impact Resistance: Tough and shatter-resistant - PETG flexes and absorbs energy rather than cracking, making it safer than acrylic in applications where the panel may be hit or stressed.
Easy Fabrication: Cuts, routes, drills, bends, and bonds cleanly with standard shop equipment. Bends without stress-whitening at the bend line.
Cost-Effective Middle Ground: Less expensive than polycarbonate, with better impact performance than acrylic and better clarity than PVC.
These four properties together explain why clear PETG is specified across so many applications - it is rarely the absolute best at any one property, but it is reliably good at all of them.
Clear PETG provides reliable optical clarity for retail displays, protective covers, and any application where the contents or background must be visible through the sheet. Light transmittance is typically 88% or higher across most thickness gauges.
This is one of PETG's defining advantages. Clear acrylic of the same thickness can shatter on impact - producing sharp fragments. Clear PETG flexes, absorbs the impact, and does not shatter. For machine guards, protective shields, and any safety-critical application, this difference matters.
PETG bends without cracking, routes without chipping, and bonds with standard solvent cement. Unlike acrylic, which can crack at fastener holes or tight bend lines, PETG handles fabrication stress more forgivingly.
For most general fabrication and display work, the clarity-strength-cost balance of PETG is more practical than specifying acrylic (cheaper but brittle), polycarbonate (tougher but more expensive), or PVC (cheaper but lower clarity).
Retail display backings, exhibition graphics, point-of-sale panels, and product showcase covers. Clear PETG provides the visibility needed for product display while standing up to the handling that retail fixtures see during installation and reconfiguration.
Machine guards, safety shields, equipment access panels, and protective covers in industrial environments. PETG's impact resistance makes it the safer choice over acrylic for any application where the panel may be struck by tools, parts, or operator activity.
Sample packages, prototype packaging, custom premium packaging covers, and visual presentation cases. Clear PETG's combination of clarity and easy fabrication makes it well-suited to short-run packaging projects where consistency and presentation matter.
UV flatbed printing on clear PETG produces high-quality graphics for signage and display use. The sheet routes cleanly on CNC equipment, cuts on table saws and panel saws, and bonds into assembled fabrications.
Interior partition windows, sneeze guards, light-glazing applications, and protective screen panels where transparency and shatter-resistance both matter.

Common thickness ranges and where to find more detail:
Thin gauge (0.15-0.50mm): Light protective covers, packaging substrates, face shield material, thin printed panels. For the standard thin-gauge stock format, see our 0.020" x 24" x 48" PETG sheet page
Mid gauge (1.0-2.0mm): Display panels, light fabrication, cover panels, mid-weight protective shields
Heavy gauge (3-6mm): Structural fabrication, machine guards, rigid display shells, architectural glazing. For the most common heavy gauge, see our 3mm clear PETG sheet page
If your application has not yet been narrowed to a specific thickness, this page is the right starting point. If you already know what thickness you need, the thickness-specific pages above will give you more detailed buying information.
The PETG cluster on our site is structured around buyer decision stages:
| Page | Best For |
|---|---|
| PETG sheet (main) | Buyers exploring PETG as a material category - all colors, all thicknesses, all variants |
| This page (Clear PETG) | Buyers who have decided on clear/transparent PETG but have not yet chosen a specific thickness or stock size |
| 3mm clear PETG sheet | Buyers who specifically need 3mm fabrication-grade clear PETG for guards, displays, or rigid panels |
| 0.020" x 24" x 48" PETG sheet | Buyers who specifically need thin-gauge clear PETG in the standard 24 x 48 inch stock format |
If you are still comparing options or evaluating PETG against other materials, this page is the right starting point. Once you have decided on a specific thickness or format, the dedicated pages above provide more focused buying information.
Buyers evaluating clear rigid plastics typically compare PETG against three alternatives. Here is how clear PETG compares:
| Factor | Clear PETG | Clear Acrylic | Clear PVC | Clear APET |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Optical Clarity | High (88%+) | Highest | High | High |
| Impact Resistance | High - does not shatter | Low - brittle, can shatter | Moderate | Moderate |
| Stress Whitening at Bends | Minimal | Cracks before bending | Some whitening possible | Whitening common |
| Thermoforming | Excellent - wide forming window | Difficult - requires high temperature | Good on PVC-specific lines | Good - narrower window than PETG |
| Cost | Moderate | Moderate to higher | Lower | Lower to moderate |
| Cutting/Routing | Easy - clean edges | Possible but brittle | Easy | Easy but can crack on sharp corners |
| Bonding | Easy with solvent cement | Easy with acrylic cement | Easy with PVC cement | Possible but more limited |
| Best For | Displays, guards, fabrication, packaging where impact matters | High-clarity display panels where impact is not a concern | Cost-driven clear sheet, vacuum forming on PVC lines | Food packaging, blister packs, thermoformed trays |
Quick decision framework:
If you need impact resistance + clarity + easy fabrication, choose clear PETG (this page)
If you need maximum scratch resistance and clarity, and impact is not a concern, acrylic is often preferred
If you need the lowest-cost clear panel, clear PVC is typically less expensive (see our PVC clear sheet)
If you need food-contact thermoforming clarity, APET is the standard (see our APET sheet)
For a fuller comparison of PET-family materials including PETG in thermoforming applications, see our APET/PETG/GAG sheet roll for thermoforming page.

ISO 9001 Certified: Routine batch testing is performed for thickness tolerance, clarity, and surface quality. Test reports are available on request.
Sample and Bulk Supply: We support sample requests for evaluation as well as bulk container-load orders. Mid-volume orders are also accommodated for buyers between sample and full-container quantities.
The most common applications are display panels, protective guards and shields, machine covers, packaging samples and prototypes, and printed signage. Clear PETG is also used for architectural glazing, sneeze guards, and protective covers where transparency and impact resistance are both important.
It depends on the application. PETG has significantly better impact resistance - acrylic can shatter, PETG flexes. PETG is also easier to thermoform and bonds without stress-whitening at bend lines. Acrylic has slightly higher clarity and better scratch resistance. For safety-critical applications (guards, shields), PETG is generally preferred. For premium display applications where surface scratching matters more than impact, acrylic may be better.
Yes. PETG cuts cleanly with table saws, panel saws, CNC routers, and utility knives (for thin gauges). It drills cleanly with standard drill bits at moderate speeds. Edge quality after cutting is good and can be flame-polished or mechanically polished for finished appearance.
We supply clear PETG from 0.15mm film stock up to 6mm fabrication plate. Most common thicknesses are 0.020" (0.5mm) for thin stock, 1.5mm for light fabrication, and 3mm for general rigid panels. Other thicknesses including 2mm, 4mm, 5mm, and 6mm are also available.
Yes. Beyond standard sheet sizes (4x8 ft, 1000 x 2000 mm, 24 x 48 inch, A-series), we offer cut-to-size service for non-standard panel dimensions. Send us your required size and we will pre-cut sheets to specification.
Clear PETG has good color stability under normal indoor use. Under prolonged direct UV exposure, some color shift can occur over time. For long-term outdoor installations, specify UV-stabilized grade at the time of order.
MOQ depends on thickness, sheet size, and any custom specifications. For standard thicknesses in standard sizes, MOQ is typically manageable for mid-size buyers. Contact us with your specific requirements for a quote.
