PP sheet for printing is a polypropylene plastic sheet specifically designed as a substrate for printed signage, labels, display graphics, POS materials, and other applications where the printed material needs to be durable, moisture-resistant, and tear-resistant. Unlike paper-based printing substrates, PP printing sheet does not absorb water, does not tear easily, and maintains its dimensional stability and print quality in environments where traditional paper would degrade.
This is a B2B raw material product. ONE Plastic supplies PP printing sheet in roll and cut-sheet form to print shops, sign makers, label converters, and packaging companies who print on it using their own equipment.
ONE Plastic manufactures PP sheet for printing as part of our broader polypropylene plastic sheet product range. We supply this material to printing and converting customers worldwide.
Material: Polypropylene (PP)
Color: White (standard), Clear, and custom colors
Thickness: 0.15mm - 1.0mm
Standard Roll Width: 300mm - 1400mm
Sheet Size: Custom cut-to-size available (including A3, A4, SRA3 formats)
Surface: Smooth, matte, or corona-treated (depending on printing method)
Form: Roll or cut sheet
Key Properties: Printable, waterproof, tear-resistant, lightweight, recyclable
Print shops and converters choose PP sheet over paper, PVC, and PET for specific practical reasons.
Waterproof: PP sheet does not absorb water. Printed PP materials can be used outdoors, in wet environments, and in refrigerated display cases without warping, wrinkling, or ink bleeding. This is the primary advantage over paper-based printing substrates.
Tear Resistant: PP sheet is difficult to tear compared to coated paper and even some thin plastic films. Printed signs, labels, and tags produced on PP last longer in handling-intensive environments like retail floors, warehouses, and industrial settings.
Lightweight: PP is one of the lightest commercial plastics (density approximately 0.90-0.92 g/cm3). Printed PP signs and labels add minimal weight to the finished product or display, which matters for large-format hanging signage, retail shelf labels, and shipping labels.
Dimensionally Stable: PP sheet does not curl, warp, or change shape from humidity or temperature fluctuations the way paper does. This means printed PP materials hang flat, stack neatly, and feed reliably through printing and converting equipment.
Chemical Resistant: PP resists many solvents, oils, and cleaning agents. Printed PP labels and signs can withstand exposure to these substances without surface degradation, making PP a common choice for industrial labels and chemical-resistant signage.
Recyclable: Polypropylene is recyclable (resin code #5), making PP printing sheet a practical alternative to PVC-based printing substrates for brands prioritizing recyclable polyolefin-based materials.
PP sheet for printing is designed to work with the printing methods most commonly used in the signage, label, and display graphics industries.
| Printing Method | Compatibility | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| UV Flatbed Printing | Good | Most common method for PP signage and display panels |
| Screen Printing | Good | Suitable for medium-to-large run signage and POS materials |
| Offset Printing | Compatible | Requires corona-treated or specially coated surface for ink adhesion |
| Flexographic Printing | Compatible | Common for high-volume label and tag production |
| Digital Printing (inkjet) | Compatible | Requires ink-receptive coating or corona treatment for aqueous inks |
| Thermal Transfer | Compatible | Used for variable data labels (barcodes, serial numbers) |
Surface treatment note: For printing methods that use water-based or solvent-based inks (offset, flexographic, aqueous inkjet), PP sheet typically requires a corona treatment or printable coating to ensure proper ink adhesion. UV-curable inks generally adhere well to untreated PP surfaces. Contact our team to confirm the appropriate surface treatment for your specific printing process.

| Thickness | Typical Printing Application |
|---|---|
| 0.15mm - 0.25mm | Labels, tags, lightweight inserts, flexible signage |
| 0.30mm - 0.50mm | Standard signage, display graphics, POS panels, menu boards |
| 0.50mm - 1.0mm | Rigid sign panels, self-supporting display boards, heavy-duty tags |
Thinner gauges are more flexible and suit label and tag applications. Thicker gauges provide self-supporting rigidity for freestanding signage and display panels.
PP printing sheet is a standard substrate for indoor and sheltered outdoor signage:
Retail and promotional sign panels
Point-of-sale (POS) display boards
Exhibition and trade show graphics
Hanging signs and ceiling-mounted displays
Real estate and directional signage
Menu boards and information panels
PP's waterproof and tear-resistant properties make it more durable than paper-based signage, while its lightweight makes it easier to hang and display than rigid PVC or foam board panels.
PP sheet is widely used as a face stock or base material for printed labels:
Product labels for bottles, containers, and packaging
Industrial labels for equipment, shelving, and warehouse use
Shipping and logistics labels
Price tags and shelf talkers
Barcode and variable data labels (thermal transfer compatible)
PP labels resist moisture, chemicals, and handling damage, making them suitable for environments where paper labels would deteriorate.
Printed packaging inserts and information cards
Product wrap bands and belly bands
Folding carton window material (clear PP)
Protective sleeve wraps
PP printing sheet is also used for report covers, presentation folders, and notebook covers. For dedicated binding cover products, see our PP binding cover page.

Printing-Grade Material: We produce PP sheet specifically optimized for printing applications, with controlled surface smoothness, consistent thickness tolerance, and optional corona treatment for ink adhesion. This is not generic PP sheet repurposed for printing - it is produced with print performance in mind.
Roll and Sheet Supply: We supply PP printing sheet in both roll form (for web-fed and roll-fed printing/converting lines) and pre-cut sheet form (for sheet-fed printing, including standard A3, A4, and SRA3 formats).
Virgin PP Resin: We use quality PP resin to help ensure consistent color, surface quality, and print adhesion across production batches.
ISO 9001 Certified: Batches are tested for thickness tolerance, surface smoothness, and corona treatment level before shipment.
Custom Options: Custom thickness, width, sheet size, surface treatment, and color are available. Contact our team with your specifications.

PP sheet is compatible with UV flatbed printing, screen printing, offset printing (with corona treatment), flexographic printing, digital inkjet (with coating or corona treatment), and thermal transfer printing. UV-curable inks generally adhere well to standard PP surfaces. Water-based and solvent-based inks typically require corona treatment or a printable coating for proper adhesion.
Yes. PP does not absorb water. Printed PP signage, labels, and tags can be used in wet, humid, and refrigerated environments without warping, wrinkling, or ink degradation.
Both are waterproof, printable plastic substrates. PP is lighter, more flexible, and recyclable (resin code #5). PVC is stiffer at the same thickness and offers better rigidity for self-supporting sign panels. PP is often preferred for labels, flexible signage, and environmentally conscious projects. PVC is preferred for rigid display panels and industrial fabrication.
Corona treatment improves ink adhesion for water-based, solvent-based, and some digital inks. UV-curable inks generally do not require corona treatment. Contact our team with your specific printing process, and we can confirm whether standard or corona-treated PP sheet is appropriate.
We offer PP printing sheet in thicknesses from 0.15mm to 1.0mm. See the thickness guide table above for recommended gauges by application type.
