The 8-line automatic PVC leaf cutting machine is the higher-capacity variant of our PVC Christmas tree leaf cutting equipment. It processes eight parallel lines of drawn PVC leaf strip at the same time, cutting them into uniform branch-length pieces for the next stage of tree assembly. Compared to the 6-line version of the same machine, it delivers roughly one-third more output per hour at similar labor cost - which is why most mid-to-large scale PVC Christmas tree factories eventually move to this configuration.
This page is specifically about the 8-line higher-capacity model. If your production volume is smaller or you are setting up a first production line, see our 6-line PVC leaf cutting machine instead. If you need a fully manual option for very small runs or training, see our manual PVC leaf cutting machine.
ONE PLASTIC manufactures both 8-line and 6-line models as part of our complete Christmas tree production series of machinery.
The PVC Christmas tree production workflow generally follows these stages:
PVC film arrives in wide rolls (green, embossed rigid PVC)
Film is slit into narrow strips on a film cutting machine
Strips are fed through a drawing machine which extrudes them into long, continuous leaf-strip shapes
These long leaf strips are then cut into short branch-length pieces by a leaf cutting machine - this is where the 8-line machine fits
Short pieces are then fed into a branch tying machine for bundling onto wire
Bundled branches are finally assembled onto the trunk hub
In this sequence, the 8-line leaf cutting machine sits between the drawing machine and the branch tying machine. Its job is simple but critical: take the long, continuous leaf strips coming off the drawing line and cut them into consistent, specified-length pieces so they can be tied into branches.
"8-line" refers to the number of parallel leaf strips the machine processes simultaneously. An 8-line machine cuts 8 strips at once per cycle. A 6-line machine cuts 6 strips per cycle at the same cycle speed. That is the fundamental capacity difference.
For a deeper overview of where this step fits in the broader workflow, see our guide on the production process of artificial Christmas trees.
The 6-line and 8-line machines do the same job. The question is which is right for your production scale. Here is how most factories decide:
| Factor | 6-Line Machine | 8-Line Machine |
|---|---|---|
| Parallel Lines Processed | 6 strips simultaneously | 8 strips simultaneously |
| Relative Output | Standard baseline | Approximately 30% higher output per hour |
| Best For | Small to medium PVC tree production; new factories | Medium to large factories; scaling existing production |
| Upstream Matching | Pairs with smaller drawing lines | Typically paired with 4-line drawing machines or higher |
| Labor Per Shift | Similar - one operator per machine | Similar - one operator per machine |
| Floor Space | Slightly smaller footprint | Slightly larger footprint |
| Cost per Unit Output | Higher on a per-piece basis | Lower on a per-piece basis at full utilization |
When 8-line is the right choice:
You are producing at volumes where a 6-line machine is running at or near full capacity for most of the production season
You are adding a second machine to an existing line and want to shift the bottleneck downstream
You are setting up a new large-scale PVC tree factory and want to start with capacity headroom
Your upstream drawing machine output exceeds what a 6-line cutter can keep up with
When 6-line is still the right choice:
You are setting up your first production line and want to start conservatively
Your total annual tree production is small enough that 6-line runs at partial utilization
Floor space is constrained
You want to minimize upfront equipment cost
Upgrading from 6-line to 8-line later is straightforward if you are already running one of our machines - the upstream and downstream connections are designed consistently across both versions.

Input Material: Continuous drawn PVC leaf strips coming off the drawing machine. The strips enter the cutting machine in 8 parallel lanes.
Output: Cut leaf-branch pieces of user-specified length, transferred onto a collection rack or tray ready for the next production stage.
Cutting Length Range: Adjustable via the control interface. Typical length settings range from short ornamental branches (around 10 cm) to long structural branches (around 25 cm), depending on your tree design.
Top-Bending Feature (Optional): Newer models include an optional function that bends the top tip of each cut leaf slightly, reducing sharp edges that could otherwise poke through packaging or scratch during handling. This function can be turned on or off as needed.
Adjustability: Cutting length, production speed, and bend option are all set through the machine's operating interface. No mechanical reconfiguration is required between length changes.
Labor Profile: One operator per machine. The operator's job is primarily supervisory - loading fresh strip feed, removing finished cut pieces from the collection rack, and responding to alarms. The actual cutting is fully automated.
Shift Output: Because 8-line processes 8 parallel strips vs. 6 for the 6-line version, output is approximately 30% higher per shift at the same cycle speed. The exact hourly piece count depends on your set cutting length - shorter pieces mean more pieces per hour, longer pieces mean fewer.
Labor Economics: Since both 6-line and 8-line require the same single operator, the 8-line machine produces more units per labor hour. For factories where labor is a significant cost, this makes the 8-line economically attractive once utilization exceeds a certain threshold.
Floor Space: The 8-line machine has a slightly larger footprint than the 6-line model. Exact dimensions are provided in the machine specification sheet - contact us for the layout drawing.
Best Fit: Mid-to-large PVC Christmas tree factories producing roughly 50,000+ trees per season, or factories running multiple production lines in parallel where the cutting stage needs to keep up with higher-output drawing machines.
A typical PVC Christmas tree production cell built around the 8-line cutter includes:
| Stage | Machine | Role |
|---|---|---|
| Upstream | Automatic PVC film cutting machine | Slits wide PVC rolls into narrow strips |
| Upstream | 4-line drawing leaf machine or higher | Extrudes narrow strips into continuous leaf-strip shape |
| This Machine | 8-line PVC leaf cutting machine | Cuts continuous strips into specified-length pieces |
| Downstream | Branch tying machine | Bundles cut pieces onto wire to form branches |
| Downstream | Trunk assembly | Attaches branches to trunk hub with hollow rivets |
If you are sourcing multiple machines to build a complete PVC tree production line, we can supply the drawing machine, leaf cutting machine, tying machine, and related equipment together - matching cycle speeds and throughput across the line so no single stage becomes a bottleneck.

Packaging
Generally, we use wooden crates to pack the machines. We place pallets at the bottom of the crates for easy transport, and reinforce the bottom inside the crates with wooden boards to secure the machine. We also include some easily damaged parts inside the crates to ensure long-term machine use.Of course, if you have special packaging requirements, we can also customize packaging for you.
Shipping
The machine supports both air and rail transport; you can choose the delivery method that best suits your needs. We will notify the factory to begin production upon order confirmation. After completion, the machine will be tested, and once confirmed to be working correctly, it will be packed and delivered to the designated location. If you have a local agent in your area, we can also deliver the machine to them, who will handle the remaining shipping procedures.
Specialist in Christmas Tree Production Machinery: We supply the full range of artificial Christmas tree production equipment - drawing machines, cutting machines (both 6-line and 8-line), tying machines, PE injection machines, and assembly hardware. When you buy an 8-line cutter from us, you are buying from a supplier who understands where it fits in the production line.
Matched Capacity Across the Line: If you buy the 8-line cutter together with our drawing machine and downstream equipment, we match cycle speeds so the whole line runs smoothly. This avoids the common problem of a fast cutter starving a slow tying machine or vice versa.
Both 6-Line and 8-Line Available: You can start with 6-line and add 8-line later, or run both in parallel. Common upstream/downstream interfaces make mixed-capacity setups practical.
Multilingual Operator Interface: The machine's operating interface supports multiple languages, and we provide operation manuals in multiple languages to support training in different markets.
Installation and Commissioning Support: For complete lines purchased as a package, we provide installation and commissioning guidance. For standalone machines added to existing production, we provide integration support.
At the same cycle speed, the 8-line machine processes 8 parallel strips vs. 6 for the 6-line machine - roughly a 33% higher throughput. Actual output in pieces-per-hour depends on the cutting length you set. Contact us with your target piece length and we can give you an expected output range.
Yes. Many of our customers start with 6-line and move to 8-line as their production grows. The upstream and downstream interfaces are compatible with both machines, so you can swap or run them side-by-side. Some factories keep the 6-line as a secondary machine for smaller or specialty runs.
The cutting length is adjustable through the control interface. Typical range is from around 10 cm to around 25 cm, covering most Christmas tree branch designs. For non-standard length requirements, contact us to confirm feasibility.
The optional top-bending feature is available and can be turned on or off during operation. This feature slightly bends the tip of each cut leaf to reduce sharpness. If you do not need it, the machine operates the same as a standard 8-line cutter.
Yes, but it is limited - most operators can learn basic operation in one day. Multilingual manuals and remote support are provided. For new factories, we can arrange more comprehensive training as part of a complete production line package.
Lead time depends on current production scheduling and whether the machine is being supplied as standalone or part of a complete line. Typical lead time ranges from 45 to 90 days from order confirmation. Contact us with your target delivery date for a specific timeline.
Warranty terms are confirmed at the point of sale and vary depending on order configuration and delivery region. Contact our sales team for current warranty details applicable to your order.
