The automatic loading and rolling pipe cutting machine (Model RY-812) is the equipment that produces the iron pipes used to weld the base of an artificial Christmas tree - both the central pipe that connects to the trunk, and the smaller pipes that form the four legs of the tree base. It is fully automated for the cutting cycle, requiring only manual loading and unloading of the raw pipe stock.
This page covers the pipe cutting machine specifically. It is part of our complete Christmas tree production series of machinery, and produces one specific component group: the base-frame iron pipes that get welded together and painted to form the tree stand. For other equipment in the production line - branch binding, leaf cutting, wire processing - see the related machine pages linked throughout this page.
ONE PLASTIC manufactures this pipe cutting machine for artificial Christmas tree factories worldwide.
In artificial Christmas tree production, the tree base is a welded metal frame consisting of:
One central iron pipe that connects upward to the trunk
Four smaller iron pipes that splay outward as the four legs of the base
The pipe cutting machine produces these pipes from continuous iron or steel pipe stock. It pulls the raw pipe in, advances it to the programmed length, and uses a rolling tungsten steel saw blade to cut the pipe cleanly to specification. The cycle then repeats automatically.
The cut pipes are then bent (by a separate machine), welded into the base frame (by a welding arm or operator), and painted - typically in dark green - to produce the finished tree stand that the consumer sees as the base of the artificial Christmas tree.
Consistent Pipe Length for Tree Bases: Every tree of the same model needs identical base pipe lengths so the welded base sits flat and stable. Manual cutting introduces length variation that shows up as wobble or uneven legs in the finished product. The automatic machine controls cutting accuracy to +/-0.2-0.5mm.
Lower Labor Dependency: The cutting cycle is automated. One operator handles loading the raw pipe stock and unloading the cut pieces - the actual cutting requires no operator intervention.
Faster Batch Cutting: The machine processes one cut roughly every 1.8-2 seconds, equivalent to approximately 6 meters of iron pipe per minute. For factories producing thousands of tree bases per season, this throughput materially shortens the base-cutting stage of production.
Better Fit for High-Volume Seasonal Production: Christmas tree manufacturing is heavily seasonal - most production happens in a compressed window between roughly March and August. Automatic pipe cutting allows factories to hit that seasonal volume without scaling up cutting labor proportionally.

The machine works with the following pipe and cutting specifications (taken from the actual machine spec sheet):
| Parameter | Specification |
|---|---|
| Model | RY-812 |
| Cut Diameter Range | 6 - 25 mm |
| Cut Length Range | 20 - 1000 mm |
| Cutting Wall Thickness | 0.2 - 2 mm |
| Cutting Accuracy | +/-0.2 - 0.5 mm |
| Cycle Time | Approximately 1.8 - 2 seconds per cut |
| Throughput | Approximately 6 meters of iron pipe per minute |
| Motor | Servo motor, three-phase power |
| Motor Power | 0.75 kW |
| Saw Blade | 100 mm diameter x 27 mm inner hole x 1.0 mm wall thickness |
| Saw Blade Material | Tungsten steel |
| Machine Dimensions | 7500 x 500 x 750 mm |
| Machine Weight | 400 kg |
| Material Handled | Iron pipe / steel pipe |
| Packaging | Wooden crate |
The diameter range of 6-25 mm covers both the central trunk-connecting pipe and the four smaller leg pipes typical of artificial Christmas tree bases. The 20-1000 mm length range covers the full size span from small tabletop tree bases through to large commercial-scale tree stands.
The machine's operation cycle:
Pipe Loading: Raw iron or steel pipe is loaded onto the machine's feed station. This step is manual.
Automatic Feeding: The machine pulls the pipe forward to the programmed cut length.
Positioning: The pipe is held in place by the rolling clamp mechanism.
Rolling Cutting: The tungsten steel saw blade rotates against the pipe surface, cutting through the wall while the pipe rolls in place. Rolling cutting (rather than chop cutting) produces a cleaner edge with less burr and lower blade wear.
Output: The cut pipe section is released and the machine returns to feed the next length.
Repeat: The cycle repeats continuously until the loaded pipe stock is fully processed.
After all pipes for a base set are cut, they go to the bending and welding stations downstream. Then the welded base is painted (typically dark green) to match the tree trunk appearance.

This machine can accommodate most steel pipe diameters, and it can cut steel pipes with diameters ranging from 6 to 25 mm and wall thicknesses ranging from 0.2 to 2 mm.

The machine has a very high production efficiency, typically processing a section of placed steel pipe in about 2 seconds. This machine can process approximately 15 meters of iron pipe per minute.

The steel pipes cut by the automatic loading and rolling machine have very small errors in precision, usually controlled to around ±0.5mm, so you don’t need to do secondary processing.
These two machines are sometimes confused because both cut metal stock to length, but they handle very different materials:
| Factor | Pipe Cutting Machine (this page) | Wire Straightening and Cutting Machine |
|---|---|---|
| Input Material | Hollow iron or steel pipe | Solid iron wire |
| Diameter Range | 6 - 25 mm | 2 - 6 mm |
| Cutting Method | Rolling cut with tungsten steel saw blade | Cut from continuous wire spool |
| Output | Pipe sections for tree base welding | Wire pieces for branches or frame components |
| Where Used in Production | Tree stand / base frame | Branch wire, hook wire, frame wire |
If you need to cut hollow pipe for tree stands and base frames, this is the right machine. If you need to cut solid wire for branch or hook production, see the wire straightening and cutting machine instead.
A complete artificial Christmas tree production cell typically includes machines for several different component groups. The pipe cutting machine specifically handles the base / stand component:
| Component Group | Equipment Involved |
|---|---|
| Branches (PVC) | PVC film cutting -> leaf drawing -> 8-line leaf cutting -> branch binding |
| Branches (PE) | PE injection molding + Robot Arm -> branch binding |
| Wire Components | Wire straightening and cutting machine |
| Base / Stand | This pipe cutting machine -> bending -> welding -> painting |
| Final Assembly | Branches + base assembled with hubs and rivets |
If you are building a complete production line, this machine sits in the base/stand component stream rather than the branch production stream.

Christmas Tree Industry Specialist: ONE PLASTIC focuses on the artificial Christmas tree supply chain. We supply not just this pipe cutting machine, but the full range of equipment needed to produce a tree from raw materials - including PVC Christmas tree film, branch binding machines, leaf cutting equipment, and assembly hardware.
Production-Line Matching: When you buy this pipe cutting machine alongside other equipment from us, the line components are designed to integrate. This avoids the problem of mismatched throughput between machines that comes from sourcing equipment from multiple suppliers.
Spare Parts Support: Wear parts (saw blades, mechanical components subject to repeated motion) are available. We typically pack consumables inside the original shipping crate so factories without local industrial supply chains have spares on hand.
Installation Guidance: Installation and commissioning support is available for buyers setting up new production lines.
Export Packaging: Wooden crate packaging is designed for international sea freight, with internal bracing and moisture protection.
The machine is designed for cutting iron and steel pipe used for artificial Christmas tree bases and trunk connectors. It supports pipe diameters from 6 to 25 mm and pipe lengths from 20 to 1000 mm, with wall thicknesses from 0.2 to 2 mm.
The cutting cycle is fully automatic - feeding, positioning, rolling cutting, and output all happen without operator intervention. Pipe loading and unloading at the start and end of each pipe stock are manual.
Cutting accuracy is controlled to within +/-0.2 to +/-0.5 mm, which is consistent enough for Christmas tree base production without secondary processing.
The machine processes approximately 6 meters of iron pipe per minute, equivalent to one cut every 1.8 to 2 seconds.
The machine is built specifically for the Christmas tree base production application within our equipment range. Pipe cutting requirements outside this dimensional range (6-25 mm diameter, 0.2-2 mm wall thickness) may not be a fit.
